Our Mission:
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School exists to foster a community of faith and academic excellence by promoting Jesus’ teachings, celebrating individual student strengths and supporting individual student needs while providing students with the skills necessary to make responsible and respectful choices based on their Catholic faith.
Our Beliefs:
We believe that Assumption BVM Parish School exists to foster and promote the catechetical mission of the Catholic Church.- We believe that Jesus is central for all aspects of learning.- We believe that educating the whole child is essential in the development of a well-rounded individual.- We believe that Assumption BVM School strives to create a cooperative and respectful environment where students can prosper and flourish as they learn.- We believe that students learn to be responsible and caring citizens by giving service to others.- We believe that education is a cooperative effort between the school and the family.- We believe that students need to come to know Jesus, to love Jesus, and to serve Jesus through their words, actions, and deeds.
Profile of Graduates:
What should our students be able to do as a graduate of Assumption BVM?
Spiritually:- Continue celebrating the Eucharist and become active members of their parishes
- Commit to living their faith through their actions and interactions in everyday life
- To be active members of the Church community through Mass and other parish activities
- Continue to follow the Christ-like morality and values that have been modeled and taught
- Live in their faith and show kindness and love to others
- Continue to grow in faith by attending Mass
- Be comfortable in their relationship with God
- Ready to share their relationship with God with others to deepen the Catholic Community
- Attend Mass and promote Catholic faith proudly; looking to have them become leaders of the church and participate in fellowship
- Continue getting involved with religious activities in high school regardless of what school they attend
Academically:- Be successful in the high school of their choice and beyond
- Set short-term and long-term goals for academic success
- Be prepared for their high school curriculum
- Become independent and responsible members of society
- Be prepared and supported to be successful in high school
- Use the tools provided at ABVM as a guide to handle the demands of a high school curriculum
- Become a well-rounded student
- Well-developed study habits to support high level learning
- Ability to apply knowledge to all types of curriculum
- Strong note-taking and active listening abilities
- Work well in groups, share and welcome ideas
- Implement ideas (versus simply develop) through project planning

Socially:- Become leaders/ examples in their communities of service to others
- Be engaged in their communities to make a difference while living faith-based life

- Be confident enough to stand up for injustice among peers and in their community
- Strong written communication paired with a moral belief system that builds a positive social media base
